The problem

A Bronx tech-training nonprofit with an $800K budget, a committed co-founder as the sole fundraiser, a friends-and-family board, and no proactive funder outreach beyond its first NYC connections.

What we did

Positioned TKH against peers like Girls Who Code and NPower, mapped networks to build a prospect pipeline, engaged 50+ new institutional and individual funders in two years, and helped launch the Annual Fellowship Campaign — $500K in year one, $1.6M in year two. In a second engagement we helped build and train an in-house development team of three.

The result

Grants from the NBA Foundation, Clark and Barker Welfare Foundations and others; a $6.5M budget; programs scaled to Atlanta, Newark, and Los Angeles — with Hudson Ferris still on as strategic counsel.
