We offer cutting-edge training for relevant staff and Board Members in the techniques of gift solicitation and fundraising best practices. Board Members actively engaged in fundraising can experience an immersive 1-hour training session at the Hudson Ferris office.
The solicitation training is a simulated real-life solicitation scenario in which trainees receive a research dossier about their prospect prior to
meeting, sit down for a one-on-one and practice soliciting a major gift. The prospect is played by a professional improvisational actor, trained in solicitation responses.
Hudson Ferris provides on-site feedback as well as a written follow-up assessment with customized advice that fits the Board member’s personal solicitation style. Through ongoing mentorship and support, we will transfer skills and knowledge to the staff and Board in order to bolster the organization’s fundraising capacity in the long term.
